Escape to the peace, quiet and tranquility of Barend Holiday Village which is in an idyllic setting, overlooking a loch and golf and surrounded by hills and forests teeming with wildlife, only a quarter mile inland from the beautiful, safe, Sandyhills beach on the Colvend Coast.
It is an ideal base for walkers, cyclists,
birdwatchers and all those who enjoy all the peaceful outdoor pursuits available
in
the stunning scenery which is Dumfries & Galloway; an area of outstanding
natural beauty.
On-site
facilities include The Solway Inn bar and
restaurant; a small children's play area comprising 2 swings, a wobble board a rope walk, a log walk, and the new Wendy House; two purpose built boules
courts overlooked by terraced picnic areas with panoramic views over
the Solway to the mountains of the Lake District; a laundrette; and
an indoor heated pool and sauna which is available at no extra
charge.

We have withdrawn from the VisitScotland Quality Assurance scheme as we believe they are no longer primarily committed to quality. We are, and therefore we will continue to maintain our lodges to a standard beyond that expected of a 3 star property.

SHOPPING
Although our nearest shop is two miles away, we are happy to arrange daily deliveries of bread, milk and newspapers, and any groceries needed upon arrival.

 Sixteen
golf courses are within twenty miles of easy travelling along quiet country
roads, the nearest being Colvend, which is two minutes by car from our
site, and which many of the lodges overlook.
Cycles are available for hire on site.
Horse riding and pony trekking are available from the stables situated
next to the loch.
 All of the Scandinavian
style lodges are comfortable, well equipped, with central heating for year round use
and were awarded 3 stars by the Scottish Tourist Board. There are "pets
welcome" as well as "pet-free" lodges.
There
are three types of self catering accommodation;
all well equipped for the freedom of self-catering and our prices include
bedlinen, towels
and
heating.
All
lodges are equipped with TV & DVD, some have dishwashers, and satellite - which must be requested upon booking. A video player can be provided on request. Most lodges have WiFi internet access; again please specify upon booking.
